The ninth edition of ICT4D (Information and Communications Technologies for Development) Conference, a global technology meet, will begin here on Monday. It is being conducted in India for the first time.
The conference, with a theme ‘From Innovation to Impact’, will bring together public, private and civil-society organisations from across the humanitarian and international development community to discuss the latest trends in digital inclusion.
There will be a host of sessions on agriculture, health, education, livelihoods, disaster management, environmental protection, partnerships and cross-sector solutions, data-driven adaptation and digital financial conclusion.
It will also take up crucial issues, including the wider use of data to support achievement of the global sustainable development goals.
KT Rama Rao, Telangana Minister of Information Technology and Industries, will inaugurate the conference in the presence of Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, at Hyderabad International Convention Centre.
Top executives and experts from global majors such as IBM, Microsoft, Accenture and Google will participate in the meeting.
The ICT4D Conference is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary gathering of inspiring leaders, thought-provoking speakers and engaged participants from around the world to explore how innovation in technology is increasing the impact of development work to make a measurable difference in the lives of millions of people.
