Infosys Public Services, a US-based subsidiary of Infosys, has partnered with the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services (DFPS) to modernise its IT system.

Called IMPACT (Information Management Protecting Adults and Children of Texas), it is an administrative system used by DFPS to deliver child welfare related services. This system is used by 10,500 employees working across 250 different locations to service over 12 million children, the elderly, and the differently-abled. India’s second largest software exporter did not divulge the financial details of this deal.

As a part of the modernisation efforts, this system will be mobile-enabled, with automated workflows and self-service capabilities for child protective services, adult protective services, child care licensing, and prevention and early intervention programme areas.

“Modernising the IMPACT system will enable caseworkers to be much more responsive to these clients, families, and the broader community through timely access to accurate data, insights into information collected by caseworkers and better collaboration with law enforcement,” said Eric Paternoster, President and CEO of Infosys Public Services.

This will improve efficiency and effectiveness of caseworkers, streamline operations, and reduce their administrative burden, enabling them to spend more time with clients.
