Infosys’ global sales head quits

After two years of heading global sales and marketing for Infosys, Basab Pradhan has quit the company.

In a Twitter post, Pradhan said: “Leaving Infosys to go back to the startup world. To all my friends at Infosys- please stay in touch.” An email to Pradhan did not elicit any response.

Interestingly this is the second time Pradhan has quit Infosys. Pradhan served as head of Global sales, in his first stint, before he quit Infosys in 2005 and founded Gridstone Research.

Pradhan took over in July, 2002, when Phaneesh Murthy, the then Infosys director and global sales and marketing head, quit after being sued for sexual harassment by a former Infosys employee to drive Infosys 3.0 strategy. However, the company has been losing its leadership position in the last couple of years and even brought back NR Narayana Murthy at the helm to tide over these growth concerns.
