Stephen Pratt, Head of Utilities and Resources, North America, has quit Infosys. The exit follows that of Ashok Vemuri, who was Head of Americas and Global Head of Manufacturing and Engineering Services and a Board member

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Pratt will be replaced by Alexandre Elvis Rodrigues, who is now Regional Head, Energy and Services, Americas.

Pratt has been with the company since 2004 and his exit comes at a time when the company is realigning its management across different business segments as it tries to catch up with competitors chiefly TCS and Cognizant.

He was also a member of the Infosys Executive Council, and in the last two fiscal years was the highest paid executive of the company.

Infosys has been growing in single digits at a time when peers such as TCS, Cognizant and HCL Tech have all reported double-digit revenue growth.

A worried board had brought back N.R. Narayana Murthy.

After he took charge there have been a spate of changes and Murthy is trying to make the organisation more nimble-footed at a time when competition comes from large- and small-size companies, according to industry watchers.

However, analysts feel that Pratt’s exit will not affect the company much.

“The company is going through a transformation and some shake-ups are bound to happen but it will not affect the business as it is a large company,” said Sanchit Vir Gogia, Chief Analyst, Greyhound Research.
