Intel plans to drive India sales of All-In-One PCs that come with second generation Intel Core family processors. AIO computers are desktop machines in which the CPU, speakers and monitor are combined in one case. They are one of the fastest growing form factors in desktops, said a statement from Intel. The company is working towards local integration of AIO systems with interchangeable motherboards, AIO enclosures and PC components from multiple suppliers, it said.
It wants to enable a large number of channel partners (distributors) to offer All-in-Ones. Mr Suryanarayan B, Director-Sales (West), Intel South Asia, said, “With the increased market interest and growth in the All-in-One segment over the past few years, we feel there is a real opportunity to enable the smaller system integrators with this form factor.
Intel cited a U.S. PC client sub form factor 2011-2015 forecast conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC). It said that AIO desktops are gaining traction, mostly driven by the consumer segment, where their share is expected to grow by 33 per cent by the end of 2015.
In India, shipments for AIOs have already been growing steadily and now averages 50,000 per quarter. Price decline is another factor that is boosting the opportunity for AIO, and more consumers are showing interest in the AIO form factor and touch technologies, said the statement.
