Ease of doing business, correction to inverted duty structure and streamlining of procurement processes are some areas where the industry expects key announcements. The Union Government must move into execution phase in all these initiatives, according to B V R Mohan Reddy, Vice-Chairman of Nasscom and Executive Chairman of Cyient Limited.
On what the industry expects from the upcoming Union Budget 2015, he said the IT industry expected the government to roll out concrete initiatives enabling corporate firms in India to participate actively in the ambitious reform and development programmes announced earlier.
“Digital India, Make in India and Smart Cities programs hold tremendous potential to transform India. The future is in digital world. Nations with the best digital assets-connectivity, content and literacy-are on the assured path to becoming powerful digital economies,” he pointed out.
The Make in India programs must encompass design, engineering and manufacturing to make India self-reliant, and generate employment opportunities.
