IT consulting and product engineering company, KPIT Cummins, has reduced travel cost by 15 per cent and communication cost by 35 per cent annually.

A release from Microsoft said that the company is using Lync 2010 and Exchange 2010 for collaboration among employees, which has resulted in these cost savings.

Mr Mandar Marulkar, Head-IT infrastructure, KPIT Cummins, said: “As most of our business deals have off-shore/onsite model, employees were heavily dependent on international calls and travel and as a result, communication and commuting costs were rising. After the adoption of Lync 2010 and Exchange 2010, our employees started using Lync for overseas calls, leading to a heavy reduction in communication and travel expenses.’’
