As many as 30 student teams from engineering and technology institutes across the country will compete in the finals of the annual National Design and Development Innovation Contest - KPIT Sparkle – scheduled at Pune on February 18.
The finalists will exhibit the next generation technology products on the energy and transportation sector – developed using artificial intelligence, new materials and cyber security with a focus on greener, safer and user convenient models.
The competition, which has entered the fourth edition, aims to foster a culture of innovation and critical thinking among students in solving real-world problems in socially relevant sectors
Ravi Pandit, Co-founder, Chairman and group Chief Executive, KPIT, said the IT consulting and product engineering company received more than 12,000 registrations from 600 engineering and science colleges in the pre-qualification stage; shortlisted 30 of the 1500+ teams based on the affordability and commercial viability of the proposed ideas.
Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Akurdi, Pune is hosting the finals on February 18.
K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation, Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and Harkesh Mittal, Adviser, Member-Secretary, National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, will give away cash awards, certificates and prizes to the winning teams.
