Lenovo India on Wednesday launched 6 smartphones from entry-level to top-end performance phones priced between Rs 8,700 and Rs 33,000, which will be available across 3,000 outlets in India.
The new smartphones are designed to be slim, elegant and powerful with different devices playing different roles, led by the Lenovo K900 smartphone, the company's flagship model, it said.
The models include A series -- A390 and A706 (priced at Rs 8,689 and Rs 15,949), S Series -- S820 and S920 (priced at Rs 19,599 and Rs 26,339).
The P780 is priced at Rs 22,529 and premium K900 is priced at Rs 32,999.
The company has launched all the devices that run on Google’s Android platform and soon will also launch smartphones which based on Microsoft’s Windows 8.
“Our fourth fiscal quarter results clearly demonstrate strong business momentum. Our ultimate goal is to use innovation to differentiate Lenovo and become not only a leading PC+ brand, but also one of the most respected technology companies in the world. Our strategy for India will focus strongly on smartphones,” Milko Van Duijl, Senior Vice President, Lenovo, said.
The company said it targets to sell 100 million devices this financial year worldwide, from which 50 million will be smartphones. Lenovo India had recently said it aims to sell 1 million of smartphones in the country.
“Our retail footprint has grown considerably to 3,000 retail stores, since we launched our first range of smartphone last year (in November). We will continue to expand our reach across India,” Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India, said.
