LG Electronics India launched its range of curved products — TV and smartphones — in the Capital on Wednesday.

Its curved OLED TV is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh and will be available in January, while the price of the G Flex smartphone is under wraps and will be available in India in February.

Curved display removes the problems of visual distortion and detail loss, the company added.

Soon Kwon, MD, LG India, said, “India is a strategic market for LG and we are the first company to launch the curved series in this market. The unique and immersive curved design will provide consumers with an ultimate viewing experience.”

He added that the home entertainment and mobile segments are the growth engines for LG India and it will strengthen the product portfolio further with new launches. “Our target is to capture 30 per cent market share in flat panels and 10 per cent market share in smartphones by end of the next year,” he added.

The company expects to sell 500 units of the curved OLED TV in the initial months of the launch.

Kwon said that there is a growing demand for premium products in India as Indians are early adapters of technology.

The 55-inch OLED TV comes with a curved design featuring 4-colour pixel technology a thin display (4.3 mm), high quality sound with a magic remote. The G Flex smartphone has a 6- inch plastic OLED display with a curved battery and self-healing coating in the back cover.
