Professional networking firm LinkedIn is considering to allow payments in the rupee. At present, the firm is allowing payments only through credit cards for premium memberships and ad space on the portal.
“We are working on it. We are evaluating various options,” Diman Mukherji, Director (Marketing Solutions) said.
Addressing the two-day Digital Summit 2012 being held at the Indian School of Business here on Saturday, he said that the firm had crossed the 1.7-crore-members mark in India last month. “We could achieve this in just three years of arriving here,” he said.
LinkedIn has a global membership of 18.7 crore users, with 40 lakh professionals joining every month. “There are 75,000 developers who are working on our tools to develop relevant tools and applications for the users,” he said.
He said the company was focusing on covering small and medium businesses.
