The merger of Satyam Computer Services (now called Mahindra Satyam) with Tech Mahindra is likely to happen within the next few quarters. The respective Boards of Directors will, however, take the final call, a top Tech Mahindra official said.
“The merger is likely to take place within the next few quarters and it is for the Board to decide on the time,” Mr Amitava Roy, chief operating officer, Tech Mahindra, said on Wednesday on the sidelines of a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
According to Mr Roy, it is only a matter of time before the merger takes place.
He, however, clarified that there will be no overlapping of services between Tech Mahindra and Satyam. While Tech Mahindra specialises in telecom servicing, Satyam is known primarily as a technology service provider.
Acquisitions and Growth
The company is also open to overseas acquisitions, particularly in Latin America, but has not decided on any budget to fund them or a timeline for these acquisitions to materialise.
Some of high growth areas identified by the company include BPO services and infrastructure and network management. Intellectual property rights are also expected to generate additional revenues in the coming years.
