Soon you can dump those plastic loyalty cards you carry in your wallet.
Mahindra Satyam has launched an IT solution that allows retailers assign a unique identity number to its customers and give them special discounts or offers. It also allows them to carry out targeted marketing campaigns based on customers’ buying behaviour.
Initially, the Mobile Couponing Platform is available for the UK market.
“The ready-made solution allows retailers to deliver multiple, targeted marketing campaigns and gives customers access to coupon offers and information on their mobile phones. The solution works by sending customers a unique identification number,” Mr Ashish Bhuwania, Head (Retail and Consumer Sector) of MSat, said.
Retailers could scan the barcodes directly from mobiles to get access to the customers’ loyalty accounts, a company statement said.
