Hari Thalapalli

Hari Thalapalli, an old-timer at Mahindra Satyam, will move out of Human Resources division. Hari, who has been heading the HR for years, will now take over Business Consulting for Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra.

Apart from heading HR (as Chief People’s Officer), Hari is also the Chief Marketing Officer of Mahindra Satyam and tipped to head the roles in the merged entity.

“He has been asking for a change from HR responsibilities for sometime. He will don a new role in Business Consulting,” sources in the company said.

Hari, who completed about 12 years in Mahindra Satyam, has been handling HR for over 26 years.

Rakesh Soni, Chief Operating Officer, will handle HR as an additional responsibility after Hari shifts to his new responsibilities.

Hearings in merger plea

Meanwhile, the hearings have begun in the petitions related to the merger of Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra.

Besides, the petition that mandates Mahindra Satyam to take the court permission for the merger, the court is also hearing pleas by Ekadanta Greenfields (an IL&FS entity) and by a few minority shareholders of the IT firm.

The latter plea challenged the swap ratio announced by the company for the proposed merger. They alleged that the ratio went against the interests of the Satyam investors.

The permission from the Andhra Pradesh High Court is the only hurdle the company faces for the merger.

The other merger partner has received the Mumbai High Court nod.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court had dismissed the Special Leave Petition filed by Ekadanta Greenfields with regard to the auditing report prepared by the Official Liquidator (through the High Court appointed auditors Brahmayya and Co.).
