MobiKwik to invest ₹50 crore to open 13 more offices

To invest over Rs 50 crore for setting up new offices; hire over 1,000 employees

Mobile wallet company MobiKwik on Thursday announced that it will set up offices in 13 cities by the end of the current quarter and hire over 1,000 employees to drive business growth in these centres.

“We will be investing over ₹50 crore in setting up new offices to cater to regional requirements, and hiring over 1,000 employees pan India across technical and non-technical requirements,” said Upasana Taku, co-founder, MobiKwik.

She claimed that post-demonetisation, MobiKwik has observed unprecedented growth and that it’s expansion plans are in line with its vision to achieve ₹1,000-crore gross merchandise value (GMV) in 2017.

GMV is an industry term for estimating the total worth of goods sold through a digital platform.

MobiKwik will be expanding its footprints in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, NOIDA, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Kochi, Jaipur and Chandigarh.

Since November 2017, MobiKwik has added 9 lakh merchants and 1 orore users.

Till date, the mobile wallet company has a network of 10 lakh merchants and 45 million users.
