Xiaomi is likely to launch the next version of Redmi on Thursday.
A teaser on the Mi India homepage (see pic) indicates the launch date. Though the teaser does not indicate the model, it is very likely that it will be the Redmi 2. The teaser offers priority channel pass to buy the mobile to those who find three keywords.
Xiaomi had stopped selling the first version of Redmi a few months ago.
The dual SIM Redmi 2 was recently launched in China at around 700 yuan (around Rs 7,000). It has a 2 GB RAM compared to 1 GB in the first version. It comes with an internal storage of 16 GB with an expandable storage slot that can take up to 32 GB.
The Redmi 2 has an 8mp rear camera and a 2mp front camera and comes with a 2200 mAh lithium polymer battery.
As with other Xiaomi phones, The Redmi 2 will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
