MobME Wireless, India’s first telecom campus start-up, completes a decade of its launch this month, amid plans to ramp up its operations through a string of expansion initiatives to cater to the needs of customers in the South Asia, West Asia, Africa and the US.
The company, which initially focused on providing mobility and related solutions to telecom operators, has expanded its range of technology to cater to needs of clients in e-commerce, airlines, BFSI and retail sectors, through its core verticals.
As part of our expansion plans, the company has already initiated discussions with customers in the US, West Asia, South Asia and Africa, said Sathya Kalyanasundaram, CEO, MobME.
“As we mark a decade of our existence, we are making a strategic shift into a technology company with innovative analytics and banking product portfolios,” he added.
In order to expand its product portfolio, the company has also decided to consider inorganic growth opportunities such as acquisitions or similar transactions.
Three engineering students Sanjay Vijaykumar, Sony Joy and Vivek Francis founded MobME in 2006. The team initially started with solutions for the telecom sector and later cemented its relationships with other sectors.
The company has carved a niche for itself by creating an array of innovative technology-driven verticals and solutions. Most start-ups tend to fail after a three to four year period.
It is hence a great achievement that we have completed a decade, said Sanjay Vijayakumar, founder member of MobME.
Key verticalsMobME, a winner of Nasscom India Leadership Awards for Innovation in 2009 and 2011, now strategically focuses on three key verticals — telecom solutions, customer experience analytics and mobility solutions for BFSI enterprises.
