Consider this: Your apartment/ villa is ready and expected to be handed over in the next couple of days. Could be a huge relief, but think you are done with it? Not yet, for the work on the interiors will only begin thereafter.
From finding the right furnishing design (well within your budget) to getting a good carpenter to do the job, you may have to frequent furnishing vendors, haggle prices before striking a deal.
To make this job more easy and transparent, Bangalore-headquartered start-up Capricoast.com has started to provide home furnishing and modular furnishing solutions.
The proud investor of a new apartment/ villa in Bangalore need no longer lose sleep on finalising the interiors, as this is all available with the click of a button. What more, you not only get the see the product design on your screen but get the solutions provider to show the sample at your doorstep before finalising the design and inking the deal.
The solution, made available from January this year is at present available only for buyers of property in Bangalore. Capricoast however is in the process of expanding its footprints by offering the solution to property buyers in Pune and Mumbai soon.
“The launch in Pune and Mumbai is expected to happen in a month's time. We are exploring the NCR region too,” Jawad Ayaz, Founder, Capricoast told Business Line.
“Our goal is to demystify the interior design process and make it more transparent. We have uploaded 1,000s pre-designed kitchens suited to fit the floor plan of most of the renowned builders in Bangalore. Hence, the job is made easy as one can select the vendor from the list available, based on brand preference, proximity and price among others. Further, there is no time lost in shopping, architect consultation is available for free, and the resultant saving phenomenal,” adds Ayaz.
The company has in the last five months completed 100s of installations. “We deal with the vendors directly and help the buyer save close to 50 per cent of the outgo, were they to do it on their own,” he said and explained that the cost of doing the interiors would work out to approximately 50 per cent of the cost of the apartment. “By ordering through this portal, the buyer will be able to get it done within his budget and on-time delivery. What probably would have taken 2 months is now possible in less than a minute,” Ayaz avows.
Capricoast just closed $1.5 million in a seed round led by Accel Partners.
Ayaz says that he would use this fund to build the product and launch it in six main cities before the close of this fiscal.
