Telecom operators Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which operates under the MTS brand, today announced it is entering into the remote security surveillance segment with launch of an Internet-based solution in partnership with D-Link.
“MSecure launch makes MTS the first telecom operator in the country to offer video surveillance solution bundled with the MBlaze Ultra WiFi Dongle,” MTS India Chief Marketing & Sales Officer Leonid Musatov said in a statement.
The company is offering MSecure products for Rs 6,000 and Rs 9,000 with day and night vision.
Under this solution, MTS will provide D-Link wireless camera will connect with MTS wi-fi network in 100 metres range after initial settings.
The user will be able to access live videos through the camera over his mobile phone or personal computer. Both the camera will have mic and speaker for the user to listen and speak through the camera from a remote location.
The higher priced package will provide camera with storage capacity of up to 32 GB that can be done on memory card installed inside it. This camera comes with technology that will automatically clear storage once the memory is full for fresh recording.
The data services supporting camera function can also be used for accessing Internet on mobile or computer using wi-fi network that the MTS device will create.
With MSecure, MTS enters in to Indian residential surveillance market which as per an IMS report was estimated to be around $1.7 million in 2012 and is expected to grow to $7.1 million by 2016 with a CAGR of about 45 per cent.
The company has 9.8 million customers at the end of 2013.
