The Nasscom India Leadership Forum (NILF), the annual flagship event of the IT-BPO industry trade body, began here on Monday. The three-day 26th edition of NILF is expected to attract over 2,000 delegates from 25 countries.

This year’s NILF also hosts the World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT), a global event happening in the country for the first time. The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has lined up about 200 experts from different industry verticals, government and the ecosystem to address the delegates over the three days of WCIT-NILF-2018.

Sadguru, Founder of Isha Foundation, has asked the IT industry to invest in Ignorance -- on things you don't know. He was speaking on 'Intelligence of Ignorance' during the curtain-raiser session of Nasscom's India Leadership Forum and World Congress of IT here on Monday.

The Telangana government clinched the WCIT event by paying a sponsorship fee of Rs 5 crore. The WCIT and NILF would focus on the theme ‘Amplify Digital - Disrupt The Core’, reflecting the digital transformation taking place at a fast pace across businesses and organisations. The event would have some top names from industry including David M. Cote (Honeywell), Shantanu Narayen (Adobe Systems), and Andrew Ng, Coursera. Sophia, the AI-powered robot, will also be present at the event for a fireside chat.

The event will feature ‘Tech Cafe - The Digital Experience Zone’, where companies will showcase a new range of products and services with specific themes on each day, including Design Thinking, IoT technologies and AI, R Chandrashekhar, Nasscocm President, said. Nasscom will come out with a strategic Industry Review for the financial year 2018-19 on February 20.
