Nasscom has appointed Rishad Premji, Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Board, Wipro, as its Chairman for 2018-19.

Premji succeeds Raman Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, Quatrro Global Services, who served as Chairman for the year 2017-18.

Premji has been a member of Nasscom’s Executive Council and was the Vice-Chairman for 2017-18. “As we stand on the cusp of a digital transformation, I look forward to working closely with Nasscom’s multiple and versatile teams, and continuing our endeavours to foster growth in changing times,” Premji said in a statement.

Keshav Murugesh was appointed as Nasscom Vice-Chairman for 2018-19. From April, Debjani Ghosh has been appointed as President of Nasscom. All the three are expected to work on the 2025 vision, which is to re-align and re-calibrate the course of the technology industry, evangelize open innovation across the board.

In line with the changing industry landscape, the Nasscom leadership team will also continue to work towards the skilling and re-skilling of talent. Another focus area will be the global free movement of talent, to proactively dispel the myths about immigration and further embrace new and emerging markets, to help the industry foray into newer geographies and domains.
