The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) will be hosting ninth edition of Nasscom Game Developer Conference (NGDC) — 2017 from November 8-11 here.

A statement issued by the IT and ITES body said recognising the burgeoning gaming market in India, NGDC 2017 will be dedicated to the advancement of interactive entertainment through talks, panels, pitches, tutorials and more.

On the sidelines of the conference, Nasscom will announce the NGDC 2017 to recognise achievements in Indian games development and encourage the creation of gaming IP in India.

NGDC 2017 has also partnered with Unity Technologies to bring their developer conference ‘Unite’ to India for the first time, which will run in parallel with NGDC, it said.

“Unite India” will be a gathering of regional artists, developers, publishers, training providers and enthusiasts interested in Unity, a platform for creating video games, simulations and other interactive and VR/AR content, it added.

“Featuring talks, panels, super-pitches, tutorials and more, NGDC 2017 is shaping up to become our biggest and most important conference yet,” Rajesh Rao, Chairman, Nasscom Gaming Forum said.

In an endeavour to encourage upcoming gaming entrepreneurs in India, NGDC 2017 has also teamed up with India’s foremost crowdfunding platform Catapooolt.

The partnership will introduce ‘NGDC Catapooolt Game Changers’ to run a crowdfunding powered hunt, creating a larger impact in the gaming ecosystem and provide equal opportunities to game developers in India, it further said.

The initiative will provide a platform for fifteen contestants to exhibit their games on the show floor, as well as pitch them to an audience, the statement said.
