Nasscom is setting up a ₹40-crore Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Hyderabad. The centre will initially be located at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H) and later be housed at the upcoming Data Analytics Park in the city.
Nasscom pegs revenues from data science and AI (IT and non-IT industries) in the country at $16 billion by 2025, providing jobs to 1.50 lakh professionals.
MoU with Telangana
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana government in this regard on the sidelines of the Nasscom India Leadership Forum (NILF-2018) here.
The CoE will be part of the hub-and-spoke network of similar centres being set up in different cities in the country.
“The CoE will catalyse the growth of the deep tech ecosystem in the State by providing the stimulus for innovation and in-depth research in the areas of data science and artificial intelligence,” Nasscom President R Chandrashekhar said after signing the MoU.
It will prepare case studies, research papers and serve as a platform for technology collaboration between stakeholders and to build solutions in this space, said Srikanth Velamakanni, a Nasscom leader.
