The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has vowed to make India a centre of excellence for data analytics for the world.
Addressing the inaugural of the Big Data Analytics summit here on Friday , Keshav Murugesh, Nasscom's Big Data Analytics Interest Group, said more and more companies will have chief data scientists and chief analytics officer.
Identifying in the big data analytics space, the association had set up a dedicated panel last year. It has projected a contribution of $7.5 billion from this segment alone by 2020.
The mandate for the dedicated group includes devising roadmap for the growth of big data analytics.
Nasscom President R Chandrshekhar would release a report on 'The analytics landscape in India' at the day-long event.
Nasscom, which has forecast an increase of 13-15 per cent in IT exports, sees a huge opportunity in big data related services. Revenues from the IT industry are expected to grow to $130 billion in 2014-15 from $118 billion last year.
The association has projected a domestic growth of 9-12 per cent in the financial services segment.
