NEC Corporation plans to establish a centre of excellence in Chennai to develop mobile communication systems. The NEC Mobile Network Excellence Centre will be set up in April. It is the first mobile communication system development centre that the group will establish in India, says a company press release.
The centre will design and develop hardware and software for the ‘PASOLINK' series of ultra-compact microwave communication systems. This is widely accepted as key products for mobile backhaul in the global market. NEC had previously decided to produce PASOLINK systems in the special economic zone and will begin shipping products from June, the company said.
