IT services provider Netmagic Solutions plans to double the total capacity of its data centres across the country within a year.
“We are having our data centres spread over area of 200,000 square feet. In a year we will double this capacity,” Netmagic Managing Director and CEO, Sharad Sanghi, said on the sidelines of Nasscom Emergeout Conclave 2012.
The company at present has data centres located in Mumbai, Bangalore, Noida (NCR) and Chennai, with 2,00,000 square feet gross floor space across locations.
Netamgic MD mentioned that company expects to complete some of the expansion plan in pipeline with 9 months.
“Our occupancy in Bangalore data centre is full so we are adding 100,000 square feet capacity there. We are adding another 30,000 square feet data centre capacity in Mumbai which will be operation within this month. In addition, we will add 100,000 square feet more in Mumbai which should be in place within 9 months,” he said.
Netmagic Solutions, which sold 74 per cent of its stake to Japan based NTT Communications in January this year, said that company will start working on major expansion from September after the NTT completes acquisition.
“FIPB has approved investment of NTT Communications. We expect to form new board of directors by end of this month. After which we will crystallise our expansion plan,” Sanghi said.
Foreign Investment Permission Board has approved Rs 182.8 crore investment of NTT Communications in the company on July 24.
According to sources, NTT Communications has acquired 74 per cent stake in Netmagic for around Rs 641.9 crore.
