Nokia has unveiled its much anticipated 4.5-inch Lumia 1020 smartphone in New York.
The USP of the new smartphone is its second generation 41 megapixel camera sensor. The first was in the relatively outdated Nokia 808 PureView which was launched almost two years ago.
The smartphone features a special Nokia Pro Camera app to make use of the advanced sensor, zoom and image stabilisation capabilities. It works on a dual capture basis where it simultaneously takes a high resolution 38 megapixel image (which can be cropped later), and creates a 5 megapixel picture for quick social networking shares.

The Nokia Lumia 1020’s 41 megapixel sensor features leading ZEISS optics with six physical lenses, plus optical image stabilisation, delivering crystal clear pictures even in low light conditions.
It also captures blur-free videos with stereo sound even at the loudest concerts thanks to Nokia Rich Recording, which handles sound pressure levels six times louder than conventional smartphone microphones.
