Nokia on Tuesday launched Lumia 510 in India, the first country where this phone is being introduced.

It will be launched in other countries including China and Finland soon.

The company is targeting youngsters aged between 18 and 24 years. The Lumia 510 will be available in the market from the first week of November. The exact pricing was not announced but the company said it is expected to cost less than Rs 11,000, making it the cheapest in the Lumia range.

“Nokia Lumia 510 has been designed specifically for markets such as India and offers them a fun and personal way to enjoy a Windows Phone,” Vipul Mehrotra, Director and Head (Smartphone Devices), Nokia India, said.

Features

He said the company would launch more such products based on Windows 7.5 and 7.8 operating systems. The new handset has a four-inch screen and five megapixel camera with auto focus.

Following on from the Nokia Lumia 610, it has applications such as Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport for location and navigation.

The Lumia 510 will also come with a three-month unlimited Nokia Music and MixRadio offering. Through MixRadio, consumers can stream music directly to the phone, with the ability to listen to personalised radio channels, including offline listening.

There are around 10,000 application developers working on thousands of such applications for Nokia, Mehrotra said.
