Medical device maker Opto Circuits (India) has signed a contract with Criticare Systems Inc to supply patient monitors to hospitals in Russia’s Tyumen Oblast province.
As per the agreement, Opto Circuits will supply ‘nGenuity’ patient monitors besides providing installation and training services to four hospitals through Criticare’s Russian distributor, Elmedica, the company said in a statement today.
The hospitals include three regional facilities and are in the cities of Zavodoukovsk, Yalutorovsk and the provincial capital Tyumen, it added.
The supply is a part of Russia’s nationwide programme to upgrade hospital equipment.
Opto Circuits, however, did not disclose the value of the contract.
Commenting on the development, Opto Circuits Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Vinod Ramani, said: “The new contract in Tyumen is one of the two recent contracts Ctiticare has acquired through Emledica to provide vital monitoring equipment to Russian medical centres.”
The hospital modernisation programme represents significant business opportunities for global medical device manufacturers, he added.
Opto Circuits shares were trading at Rs 222 on the BSE in the afternoon trade, up 2.90 per cent from the previous close.
