Oracle India plans to add 3,500 people to its current headcount of around 21,000. The new hiring plan to be completed before May 2012 would augment the company's talent pool across all its businesses that support domestic and global customers.

Making this announcement today, its Managing Director, Mr Sandeep Mathur, said that recruitment would be both for its technical and sales teams.

Refusing to divulge details on the split between fresher and lateral hiring, Mr Mathur said that the recruitment process would heavily use social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube and the Oracle HR blog.

“Recruitments would be through referrals, social media or our own hiring teams,” said Mr Mathur, clarifying that the company does not use the services of vendors for recruitment.

Out of Oracle's global workforce of about 1.04 lakh employees, 43,968 are in the Americas, 23,040 in the APAC region and 37,561 in Europe, West Asia and Africa.
