Nikon India launched new versions of its Coolpix Spring Series 2015 cameras that come with hi-end features such as power zoom, touch screen monitor and advanced shooting controls.
The launch includes 12 new models under Coolpix P, S, L and AW series that come in 38 colour variants. The top-end Coolpix P900 camera is also equipped with an 83x optical zoom, which Nikon India claimed is the highest for its class. The camera, targeted at youth, hobbyists and photography aspirants, is priced at ₹29,950 and a cheaper version in this series, the Coolpix P610, comes at ₹23,950.
The S series would be available in 6 different models and are priced between ₹6,950 and ₹1,8950. The top-end cameras in this series come with a 20x optical zoom lens.
Inaugurating a new office in Bengaluru, Hiroshi Takashina, Nikon India’s Managing Director, said the company would also hold workshops to promote the photography culture in India. Bengaluru is Nikon’s south region branch office in India, while other branches are located in Gurgaon, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. “Over last few years, we have witnessed a surge in the demand for high performance cameras from the southern states of India and we thought it to be perfect opportunity for us to expand in the region,” Sajjan Kumar, Vice-President of Nikon India, said.
