Online aggregator of branded hotels OYO Rooms has entered into a partnership with payments solutions firm ItzCash to facilitate payments for hotel bookings for its customers.
“The tie-up will facilitate effortless payments for hotel bookings across 5,500 hotels in over 170 cities in India through ItzCash’s easy money transfer solutions,” the companies said in a joint statement.
The partnership will help OYO tap potential consumers who do not have access to either a debit or a credit card, it added.
The companies, however, did not disclose the financial details of the partnership.
OYO Rooms CEO and Founder Ritesh Agarwal said: “The partnership with ItzCash will enable us to reach the large traveller base that transacts through offline channels.”
ItzCash will offer access to OYO Rooms through an online co-branded portal as well as offline outlets. It has a network of 75,000-plus retail touch points across India, the statement said.
“With this integration, we aim to further strengthen ItzCash’s foothold on the digital stage,” ItzCash Managing Director Naveen Surya said.
The company aims to address the problem faced by a large section of society that is unaware of doing advance hotel booking at an affordable rate, he added.
ItzCash is part of Essel Group that has a presence in various sectors including media and entertainment, tourism, packaging, publishing and broadcasting and financial services.
Founded by Ritesh Agarwal, OYO Rooms operates in more than 170 Indian cities with over 5,500 hotel partners. The company recently launched operations in Malaysia.
