Hotel aggregator OYO Rooms is in talks with leading telecom players for a tie-up to roll out WiFi and DTH television services across all properties on its platform, its Founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal said.

“We will announce the partnership soon. The aim is to provide a better customer experience for those booking and staying at OYO Rooms,” he told BusinessLine .

On Monday, the company announced that it has raised $100 million in funding, led by the SoftBank Group.

Funding proceeds The funding round also witnessed participation from existing investors — Greenoaks Capital, Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed India.

 The company will use the latest round of funding to implement new customer experience initiatives, build innovative technology products, and extend its domination in this space, it said.

“It will be used for a combination of online and offline support such as enabling faster and better audits of room stay experience, branded merchandise around food, among others,” Agarwal added.

Launched in 2013, OYO is present in 75 cities with over 12,000 available rooms.

It had launched the OYO Rooms mobile app three months ago. At present, 50 per cent of the total bookings come from mobile.  

In March 2015, the company had raised ₹150 crore from Lightspeed, Sequoia, Greenoaks Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.
