RCom bags Govt orders worth Rs 150 cr

Reliance Communications has won multiple orders totalling Rs 150 crore from the Central and State governments.

Under the agreements, the Anil Ambani-led company would offer data centre capabilities, IT infrastructure and connectivity services to various government bodies.

The company has signed long-term contracts with the Department of Posts (DoP), Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh Border Checkpost Development Company Ltd, Karnataka Discom and Chhattisgarh Discom.

The DoP has chosen RCom for hosting its servers and to set up a disaster recovery site, which will be operated and maintained by the Mumbai-based company for a five-year period.

RCom will also roll out Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), a high-performance telecom network, services for Karnataka Discom under a five-year agreement. It has also signed a six-year contract with Chhattisgarh Discom for rolling out MPLS service across 250 locations.

RCom, under a 13-year contract, would help the Madhya Pradesh Border Check-post Development Company automate its check-post operations.
