Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJio), the telecom arm of Reliance Industries, said late on Sunday night it was probing details of an alleged data breach. The company added that prima facie, the data appear to be “unauthentic”.

On Sunday, a website magicapk.com has put out data of what it claimed to be that of RJio users. The website gave out details of users such as name and e-mail IDs, mobile numbers and circle of SIM card activation.

“We have come across the unverified and unsubstantiated claims of the website and are investigating it. Prima facie, the data appear to be unauthentic,” an RJio spokesperson said in a statement.

“We want to assure our subscribers that their data is safe and maintained with highest security. Data is only shared with authorities as per their requirement. We have informed law enforcement agencies about the claims of the website and will follow through to ensure strict action is taken,” the statement added.
