Reliance Jio has crossed 50 million subscribers since it launched services. In October, RJio had crossed 16 million subscribers claiming it had created a world record. According to sources, the company has added 1,000 customers per minute on an average since launch. “Beating industry estimates, the company has signed up an average of 6 lakh subscribers a day,” said an industry source. Analysts, however, said that though RJio has managed to attract customers with the free offer, the real numbers would emerge when the users have to start paying for services. “A number of users may opt out when they have start paying. The actual subscriber base will emerge only by December end,” said a market watcher.
