The employee launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL)’s 4G services is expected to be witnessed by as many as 35,000 employees.

RJIL, the wireless arm of India’s largest private sector company, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), is gearing up to roll out its 4G services on December 27 for its about 85,000 employees and their families.

The company will provide free Jionet WiFi services to the spectators at the venue. Jionet WiFi is RJIL’s public wi-fi service.

The event will also be broadcast to 1,000 locations in India, and to Dallas, in the US. Another 80,000-90,000 RIL employees and their immediate family are expected to witness the launch from Dallas, sources close to the development told BusinessLine .

All these locations will also be connected to the venue at Reliance Corporate Park (the company’s headquarters in Navi Mumbai) through Jio’s own network.

A two-way video interaction between employees outside Mumbai and RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani has also been planned, said sources who declined to the identified.

The company has also roped in online movie and events ticketing portal BookMyShow to issue electronic tickets and allocate seats to employees scheduled to attend the launch event.

War-footing “Team Jio is working on a war-footing to prepare for the upcoming employee launch event on the eve of our Founder Chairman Dhirubhai Ambani’s 83rd birth anniversary,” said a spokesperson.

The launch event will include a musical show by composer AR Rahman and will be hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is also RJIL’s brand ambassador. Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita and children Akash and Isha will also be present at the launch.

RJIL has already been providing free connections to employees to test its services.
