IT software products manufacturer Rolta India today said its subsidiary, Rolta International, has won a contract to develop geospatial transportation solution for Nanging city in China.
“Rolta International Inc has been awarded the prestigious ‘Smart City’ project for Nanjing, China, in preparation for hosting the 2014 Youth Olympics,” it said in a release.
The company has engaged the services of ARES Security Corporation, Burlingame, to leverage its systems engineering expertise to assist in developing an integrated geospatial transportation solution for the city, it added.
The solution will collect Nanjing’s transportation data from hundreds of sensors and provide dashboards to assist in traffic management and monitoring the environmental parameters in real-time to better handle the dramatic increase in demand on the city’s infrastructure.
Without disclosing the amount of contract, Rolta added that the project was funded through a United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) grant that targets the creation of sustainable infrastructure and economic growth through the export of US goods and services.
Rolta’s solution will be used to support the intelligent transportation requirements for the 2014 Youth Olympics, it said.
The ‘Smart City’ project is the first collaboration under a newly formed ARES Security-Rolta strategic alliance.
