Rolta UK Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rolta India Ltd today announced that Northern Powergrid of the UK has awarded two contracts to it. The jobs are worth about Rs 59 crore and are to be executed over two years.

The first is to implement a fully integrated asset management system with comprehensive geospatial functionality. This will provide fully integrated location data, is intended to deliver information to management and operations staff with secure access at dispersed business locations and remotely through mobile devices. Northern Powergrid is an electricity distribution company, delivering electricity to nearly 4 million domestic and commercial customers across the north east of England. Management of its assets, some 31,000 substations and 91,000 km of overhead and underground cables, is critically important for investment decisions and changes to the asset infrastructure.

The second is to provide data management and quality assurance services relating to asset records.
