The relationship between HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) and Saint Gobain, a global leader in the construction space, has deepened with the latter extending it to transformational data centre services in Europe.

In a statement, HCL said that this engagement “expands HCL’s current relationship with Saint Gobain”. The initial phase provided a roadmap to cover migration servers and other data centre components in multiple locations.

HCL said it would support several European entities of Saint-Gobain during the course of this engagement for which it had commissioned new data centres in Paris.

Gery Bonte, Group CTO, Saint-Gobain, explaining how his company zeroed in on HCL, said as his company was on the lookout for an IT partner who could help in a smooth transition from a ‘decentralised and disparate environment” to a centralised and standardised IT environment, it found in HCL a vendor that could ensure it.

Ashish Gupta, Senior V-P and Head-EMEA, HCL Technologies ISD, said the cementing of the relationship between the two strengthened HCL’s standing as a “transformational IT Infrastructure partner of choice” for big multinationals not only in Europe but globally.
