Samsung Electronics Co forecast a record operating profit of 10.1 trillion won ($9.4 billion) for the third quarter, media reports said on Friday.
Analysts have put the results down to strong sales of the South Korean firm’s range of smartphones in emerging markets.
The estimated figure for the three months ending September would mark a 25.3-per-cent rise in profits from the same period last year, and a 6-per-cent increase from the previous quarter, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The world’s largest maker of mobile phones, televisions and memory chips, Samsung did not disclose its net profit estimate.
