Samsung launches ‘smart feature phones’

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has launched a range of ‘smart feature phones’ under the name Rex – with the tagline ‘Now your world is Open.’ 

Positioned in between ‘feature’ phones and ‘smart’ phones, the Rex series is priced in the range of Rs 4,300 to Rs 6,500.

It comes with high-resolution touch screen and ‘smart’ user interface. Elaborating on its features, Asim Warsi, Vice-President, Samsung Mobile, said these phones will have variety of unique and smarter features and would offer intuitive usability.

“The whole idea is to give next level of user experience,” he said.

Announcing the launch today in Delhi for the global market, B.D. Park, President and CEO, South West Asia HQ, Samsung Electronics, said the series is completely designed and developed in India.

“They are designed to seamlessly prioritise and consolidate the essential mobile functions that matter to customers across diverse markets.”

The Samsung REX series consists of four devices — Rex 90, Rex 80, Rex 70 and Rex 60. Younghee Lee, Executive Vice-President, Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics Global HQ, said the company chose India for the launch because “it is in some many ways at the centre of the economic and technology trends that are reshaping our world.”
