Serco, a global BPO service provider, partnered with the Income-Tax Department on Monday to offer services at the Aayakar Sampark Kendra (ASK).

ASKs will offer information on Income-Tax Returns, Wealth Tax Returns, PAN/TAN applications, payment of taxes, e-filing of IT returns, Refund Banker and Income-Tax Procedures.

The kendras would also register grievances via telephone and email; assist in solving them, provide inbound and outbound customer services and offer multi-lingual (all regional languages besides Hindi and English) support.

ASKs are located at Gurgaon, Jammu, Kochi, Jangipur in West Bengal and Shillong. The Jangipur ASK was unveiled by the Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, on April 14. According to a release, the I-T department’s association with Serco would help the government expedite dissemination of taxpayers’ information and grievance redressal.
