Sistema Shyam rolls out Internet calling plans

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the brand MTS on Monday rolled out Internet calling plans for both prepaid and postpaid customers.

Customers can use the data for making Internet calls using any Internet calling application of their choice, be it over WhatsApp, Skype, Viber and other such platforms, the company said.

The company will offer Internet calling plans with tariff ranging between ₹198 and ₹1,999 for both prepaid and postpaid customers as per a customer’s choice.

For example, as per the plan, users can opt to use 5GB data for 5000 minutes of Internet calls at ₹499. The 5000 minutes of Internet call guarantee for 5GB data is calculated using standard voice codecs, it said.

“MTS India does not support any discrimination or preferential treatment when it comes to Internet services. It is our belief that the freedom to access and use Internet services the way a customer wants should rest with the customer himself,”Sandeep Yadav, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer – MTS India, said.

The plans further showcase the company’s commitment and support to Net Neutrality and offers data for Internet calling.

“Our latest ‘Anti-Zero Rating Plans’ allow customers the freedom to use data for Internet calling if they wish to,” he said.

The rollout will be supported by an exclusive television commercial which will be aired across major national channels with special emphasis on regional channels in the nine circles where MTS operates, the company said.

The campaign will also be supported by digital, social media and out of home media, it added.
