Russian conglomerate Sistema JSFC is weighing its options to keep its MTS brand alive in India post the deal with Reliance Communications. While RCom has said that it will not use MTS brand post acquiring Sistema's operations, the Russian major could look at options, including floating a Mobile Virtual Operators Network (MVNO).
While Sistema did not elaborate on how it plans to use the MTS brand, a spokesperson said, "RCom does not plan to use MTS brand. Our own plans with regard to the use of MTS brand in the Indian market are currently being reviewed.”
