Snapdeal.com, India’s largest online marketplace has launched SafeShip, a fulfilment platform for sellers listing their products on Snapdeal.com.

SafeShip is a single window service for sellers who want to sell their products online without having to deal with cumbersome activities such as warehousing, logistics and liaison with courier companies.

It provides sellers with a simple e-mail-like interface which processes all their orders within a couple of clicks. Sellers can avail of this service in two ways. First, where the seller ships the product directly to the customer through Snapdeal’s logistics partners and second, where the order is routed through Snapdeal’s fulfilment centres and then shipped to the customer.

The SafeShip platform auto-optimises and allocates the best suited logistics company for a seller based on past performance and pricing. With most national, regional and city specific courier companies already integrated, SafeShip provides a hassle-free, low involvement solution for sellers to start shipping their products to consumers across 4,000+ towns and cities in India. SafeShip will not only assist sellers who do not have the necessary resources to pack and ship their products but will also handle important aspects such as pre-shipping verification, returns/ replacement/ refunds processing and product quality control on their behalf. Additionally, it also provides sellers and buyers 100 per cent trackability of their products right from the time the consignment leaves the seller’s facility to the time it is delivered to the buyer.

Speaking about the launch of SafeShip, Rohit Bansal, Co-founder and COO, Snapdeal.com said, “While there are hundreds of thousands of businesses who would like to sell nationally to consumers via the online channel, many sellers in India are still hesitant about selling their products online. A major challenge that they face is that most of them do not have the resources or the knowhow to fulfil the customer orders received while paying the right price for fulfilment. As a solution to this challenge, we have launched SafeShip — a one-click order fulfilment service for sellers.”
