Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has beaten the 'likes' of Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Shashi Tharoor and Nandan Nilekani to glory on Facebook.
Chandy now has 5,01,500 followers for his Facebook account making him among the most popular 20 Indian politicians and five Chief Ministers active on the social networking site, a spokesman of the Chief Minister's office said here.
He is followed by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with 4,63,011 likes; former Infosys honcho and UIDAI chief Nandan Nilekani with 3,90,472 likes; and Rahul Gandhi with 3,60,454.
Former union minister Shashi Tharoor with 2,35,343 likes is the second most popular politician in Kerala.
Chandy's Facebook post featuring his meeting with Sachin Tendulkar during the latter's visit to the State attracted a million hits.
As much as 40 per cent of Chandy's Facebook followers are non-residents, the spokesman added.
