The clash between India and Pakistan on the cricket pitch always attracts a good number of conversations on Twitter also.
The T20 match between these two countries at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday as part of the ongoing T20 world cup matches attracted around 1.12 million tweets during the match period.
A tweet by Twitter India said that 1.12 million tweets related to #INDvPAK were generated during the live World T20 window on Saturday.
At 11.24 pm on Saturday, the moment at which India recorded a win over Pakistan by six wickets, around 12,400 tweets were generated. This was followed by 7,600 tweets at 11.16 pm when Virat Kohli hit 50 runs.
Kohli, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh from India, and Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Amir from Pakistan were the most mentioned players.
A post on the Twitter blog said on Saturday that three million tweets have been sent with the official match hashtag of India-Pakistan matches over the last three years.
It said that #INDvsPAK in #CWC15 (Cricket World Cup of 2015) was the most-tweeted international cricket match ever with 1.7 million tweets.
