Mr Som Mittal will continue to head Nasccom for another two years.
The board of the information technology body, which met in Chennai on Monday, decided to extend Mr Mittal’s term by two years till 2014.
“Mr Som Mittal is doing an outstanding job leading Nasscom as the President. The Executive Council of Nasscom has unanimously agreed to extend his term till early 2014, to which Mr Mittal has kindly agreed,” the body said in a statement.
Born on February 7, 1952, Mr Mittal took charge in January 2008, from its previous President, Mr Kiran Karnik.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur and Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, his term was supposed to end in December, this year.
