Reaction from Infosys employees is mixed about the return of founder Narayana Murthy, the Bhishma pitaamah return. An employee at the Pune development centre, was thrilled to hear the news. The names of employees cannot be disclosed as Infosys’ corporate policy forbids them from talking to the media without approval.

This employee, who has put in six years, hopes Murthy’s re-entry would send positive messages to all stakeholders. According to him, employees had lost motivation as the company’s growth has been lower than Nasscom’s projections.

“Ultimately, a better performance would mean better increments,” he said. However, not all are gung-ho about this development.

“What worked in the past will not work in the future as the industry is undergoing rapid changes — from a technology to the way it is being deployed,” said a Bangalore-based staffer. Technology changes such as use of smart phones, social media, cloud computing are changing the way software is being used. Also, a slowing economic climate has forced Fortune companies to look at ways in which outsourcing can deliver more outcomes.
